To get around this issue you have two options: Turns out it does - it has SafeDisc, which is NOT supported in Windows 10. Given that Black and White was published by EA and released during The Great DRM Travesty of the 2000s, I had a hunch it had some sort of DRM on it. I spent 1-2 hours with the same issue and finally figured out what the problem was: for security reasons, Windows 10 does not allow DRM protected games from modifying system files (see this article for more information).
